our roots

WE, Devon & Ross, GOT OUR START IN THE AGRICULTURAL and food WORLD THROUGH TRAVELS IN OUR 20S.  WWOOFING (WORKING ON ORGANIC FARMS IN EXCHANGE FOR FOOD AND LODGING) ALLOWED US TO SEE MANY PARTS OF THE WORLD WHILE ALSO GETTING A LOOK AT DIFFERENT AGRICULTURAL and food SYSTEMS.

When we returned to Minnesota after traveling, we lived in Minneapolis and struck up a conversation with the downstairs neighbor in our duplex.  Conservations quickly ensued, ideas and dreams were expressed, and within six months we had moved southeast to live with her on her family’s farm. We started a garden and began selling produce at various markets in the area.

After a few years, Devon began offering her sourdough breads at the market, which were an instant hit. Since then, Devon has focused on only selling bread and all the food grown on our homestead (bought in 2018). Since our move from the cities, our family has only grown to include our son Ellis (8) and daughter Simone (almost 6) and Francis (9 months).
